Comments about Ultimate Survival Base All Weather Tarp:

For minimalist protection from the elements where heavy rain is unlikely, this tarp offers a sturdy, lightweight alternative. The tarp is well made, and worked very well "cowboy camping" in the Sierra Nevada during a week long backpacking trip.

For its light weight & low cost, it might be well worth carrying while day-hiking as well for emergency protection.

(Caveat: I have not yet experienced heavy rain or high wind with this tarp, and cannot comment on its performance under those conditions.)

Denise H  I was thinking of fording in half and making a makeshift hammock chair. My hubby is a tall and big man, could it support his weight (240lbs)?

Shopper  Is it nylon? or plastic? or "space blanket" material?
RYAN A  It is a lightweight nylon type tarp material. Comes with some bulky guy lines and stakes. Overall a decent product. I replaced the guy lines with 5-50 cord and discarded the little sack they provide for storage. It is a little small, but using two provides a packable and modular tarp or tent.
