i'm really fussy about what i put on my feet, and i'm more than happy with these boots. they don't feel clunkly like many boots do and you don't get that "clomp clomp" sound from them. very comfortable, sized right and works with a variety of socks. on top of all that they look good too.
wouldn't change a thing

these boots can be worn for everyday use, work, and recreation. They are comfortable and support your whole foot and not just portions of your foot. I could walk in them all day long. excellent for wintery cold and wet conditions.

I'm looking for a new pair of boots to do some backpacking and was wondering if these would work well for a 3 day 15 mile trip?

Wore these to hike in high altitudes throughout Peru and they were great. Definitely need some time to break in since they are thick but they have proven to be very protective. Also, unlike Goretex they aren't too hot and my feet stay dry.

Well, I absolutely love these boots. I had a pair of stiffer soled boots that ended up hurting my knee due to their lack of flexibility. I guess it may depend on how heavy of a pack you will be carrying but myself, my wife as well as friends have moved to a more flexible hiking boot for comfort and surefootedness. Hope this helps you decide. Also, if you saddle soap them now and again they just get looking better and better. I get compliments on them all the time.

Going to Escalante for a fews days to camp (hiking in 5 mi. or so) the first of May. Is there a hiking boot made for warmer clims?

There are two essentials for hiking, a pack that fits and shoes that fit and SUPPORT. I don"t know what the terrain is like, but these boots will protect your feet on the bottom, top and sides. If you have ever slammed your ankle bone on a rock, then you know what I mean. Use a lite weight sock combo, liner & over, to wick and keep your feet dry. A tiny bit of talk works great!Have Fun Out There!Carl

I work were it is cold and also need waterproof shoes. This is the third pair of Timberland boots I have purchased here and have always found the lowest price. They last me for at least 18 months.
