Terrific! Better than expected!

On it's face, this is too attractive & comfortable to really be taken anywhere other than my home bed, but it's an awesome home, camp, car & even non-minimalist backpacking trip. I'm going to Colorado for a music festival, so wanted a smallish pillow I could bring to compliment otherwise bare bones gear load. I opted for medium, which is plenty large enough for my mummy bag. When I unrolled it the first time, it "puffed up" to full size in 30 minutes, now it does so almost immediately. It i...

Lumpy

It's rather lumpy and stiff when first loosed from case. Even fully expanded hours later, it still feels lumpy to the hand, but not on the head or neck when laying on it. Will do just fine.

It is VERY comfy, and I've found myself adding it to my own pillows in bed! I can't imagine the usefulness of the size small, but the medium is perfect for camping, packs & car. Heck, the large would make perfect suitcase addition for traveling to places where hotel pillows are questionable or full size car/RV camping. The fabric is sturdy, the pillow is comfy, the bramble pattern is attractive yet unisex...I LOVE this thing! It rolls in on itself, so it's not "tiny" rolled up, but the medium rolls to the size of about an average Nalgene bottle.

Solid on-the-go pillow

By

I was pleasantly surprised with the comfort of this pillow. I got the medium and as with previous compressible pillows I have used, I expected it to be too thin with not enough loft. But that is not the case as it slowly expands to a comfortable loft. Great for backpacking or just having on the go when you need to catch a few z's in your car (which is where mine lives). Another good product from thermarest.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
SHARLENE T  Had to get one more of these for my other son. Now the whole family has their own pillow, each with his own design. We love these!
SHARLENE T  Loved this pillow so much that I decided to buy one for my son.
SHARLENE T  Had bought one for myself and loved it so much, I bought one for my hubby too.
SHARLENE T  Wanted something comfortable and have tried the inflatable pillows in the past. None of those were comfortable. This pillow really is. Have used it a few times on airplanes and I always get envious looks from other passengers. Huge difference from the flat uncomfortable pillows the airlines sometimes provides.
HARRY W  This is the best pillow I have used. When I was car camping I used a regular pillow until I bought this pillow. I got the large pillow so that I could roll the lower edge under my neck.
Shopper  Does it come with a stuff sack? How do you manage the thing once compressed?
RITA S  Yes, there is a stuff sack. Once compressed, I put it in a suitcase. It took up very little space but returned to its regular volumne very quickly. Great for traveling.
DENIS B  There is a lip that the whole pillow packs into.. it's sewn into the fabric with a draw string. Once it's compressed you stuff it in your bag or clip a carabiner onto the exterior of your pack. I might recommend an inflatable pillow if you are considering this for backpacking
WAYNE M  It has a self contained stuff sack built into it. you just fold it over and tuck it in. I'm not sure what you mean by managing it. It's really too small for my liking. Not one piece inner cushion. It's like a bunch of small foam pieces inside. I guess it's ok if that's all you have.
KATHRYN B  The pillow is it's own stuff sack...it's all in one
THOMAS C  The pillow has a sewn in sleeve with a drawstring. You roll the pillow into the sleeve and compress with the drawstring.
JOHN F  It has a built in stuff sack and it fits nicely in a small compartment or saddlebag.
KRISTA O  It rolls into itself... there is a kind of flap on one end, you roll towards that end and stuff it in, with a cinch thingie. Very nice.
TOSHIE L  It doesn't come with a sack. But it has an integrated pocket with a code in back side to compress / roll. Once it is compressed, it doesn't get loose. We have three small pillows for all family members. A very smart and comfortable pillow for the compact size and money.
Shopper  for regular in the car sleeping, should I buy medium or large?
LISA S  I think a medium would be fine for in the car.
HENRY J  I have used mine in the car many times. It really, like all pillows, depends on how big you are. I am 6' 3" 255lbs so a large is prefect for me even in the car. If you want it for your neck while your driving maybe a smaller pillow will do. These pillows are phenomenal nonetheless. I Hope this helped.
DANIEL J L  If in car is all you are going to use it for, I'd go with the Large. They do comperss, so the large would give a little more comfort.
JOSIE T  I ordered the medium size for camping and find it to be a sufficient size. I think a medium would probably be fine for the car. In the end, it's also probably more an issue of personal preference and sleeping habits.
RICK L  It depends on who is going to use it, I have the medium and if I was to buy again I would go with the large. The medium works good, but a friend has the large and likes the support it gives over the medium. They compress nicely so they don't take up much room, we use ours for backpacking.
SHANNON H  Large it loverly and not too big
TOSHIE L  We have three small pillows for camping. Both adults and a child can use perfectly in mummy style sleeping bag. I have seen all three sizes. If adults use for regular car sleeping, I would recommend medium or large.
