This is my second pair in Three years. The first pair didn't wear out but I thought it would be better to get a larger pair because it's hard to get my older ones on. That was a mistake. The larger ones are to large. Oh well, anyway I highly recommend these. They couldn't be better. You get what you pay for.

My wife and I have been using these for a couple of winters now without issue. Not as aggressive as some, but these are more stable if you hit hard ground, or rocks, in the spring.
The only downside with the shorter spikes is they will pack with snow a bit easier. You just need to be aware when you get back onto the ice.
The redesigned FreeSteps6 offers durable, ultra-light traction performance to those needing a simple anti-slip aid for outdoor activities. FreeSteps6 provides excellent grip if you are winter walking, ice fishing on a frozen lake, working your way through muddy trail sections, manoeuvring slippery rocks while fly fishing (river wading), or simply shoveling an icy driveway - these crampons / ice cleats will give you the confidence to move around in slippery conditions.

I wear a size 11 boot, and I definitely don't want to be losing these on the trail; would that be a large? Stretch a medium?

I would get a large. I wear size 10.5 and the hillsound freestep 6 fits great. Medium would be too small.

Thanks Christopher. God bless.

I bought a large for myself, and a medium for my wife. They arrived in large and medium packages, however, both are identical. Marked as M/L. Both work fine for both of us, and neither of us have problems with them slipping off except when they get kicked off or worked sideways which occasionally happens (within reason). Great product, would recommend.
