I was looking for something that would work along coast of lake superior waters can get rough would this work there?
MARK K I found this inflatable kayak hard to steer, even with the rudder attachment. I am not an experienced Kayaker though so it may be partly due to my paddling technique. I use it in the ocean vs lake so you should probably be ok if you know how to control/steer it well.
JOHN B stacy s,
i would not recommend inflatable kayak like this for rough water. it is more flexible than hard plastic kayaks & does not go through water as easily. if you try it, buy a "skeg" or rear fixed rudder for it which helps to keep it going straight.
Dana y only on a calm day. even then it's hard to paddle and keep it straight. don't get me wrong I love my kayak, we have a blast in that thing, but it's more of a pleasure craft. if you really wanna go long distances or on waves I'd suggest a traditional kayak. and for waves I'd suggest a one person, not a two person kayak.
