Comments about Sierra Designs Lightning XT 1 One-person Tent:

I've hiked 650 miles of the AT and have no regrets buying this tent for my thru-hike. I've only slept in 4 shelters, and prefer a wet fly to sleeping next to sickly and inconsiderate thru-hikers.
Freestanding is a big plus...the tarptent guys wonder aimlessly for a spot suitable to place their 8+ stakes so that their "tent" doesn't collapse in moderate wind. Awesome tent, awesome price.

Comments about Sierra Designs Lightning XT 1 One-person Tent:

Initial set up a bit confusing, but was easy after the 2nd time. Needs a footprint. I cut a piece of Tyvek (ultra-lightweight + waterproof)for both the under and in the tent. Overall excellent room, waterlight, lightweight tent. Large vestibule a big plus.

Comments about Sierra Designs Lightning XT 1 One-person Tent:

I am 5'11" and have plenty of room in this tent. The vestibule has full coverage and is big enough for a large internal frame pack to fit. Overall, a really good solo tent
