About Petzl Tikka XP 2 Headlamp

Petzl Tikka XP 2 Headlamp
The Petzl Tikka XP 2 Headlamp is the ideal choice if you are out in the great outdoors after the sun has set. This head lamp is specially designed with one high-output white LED that is capable of shining light as far as 195 ft. on its maximum level. The battery charge indicator light switches on when the illumination is less than 16 ft. and only 50% burn time is available. Due to its push-button switch, the lamp does not get turned on during storage and transportation, thus preserving its battery power. This lightweight device performs well even when exposed to low temperatures. This lamp is also equipped with an adjustable headband which allows you to have your hands free for other important things. With the Petzl Tikka XP 2 Headlamp, you can go on overnight outings safely prepared.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Is this the 80 lumen version?
BRET K  Yes it is..great all around headlamp..very light
Doug W  Are all of the XP 2's "LED" lights?
SCOBIE P  Yes, there is one primary super-bright, multi-level white LED, as well as a lesser red LED which can be turned on separately if you need a small light source that won't mess up your night vision. Both LED's can be set to flash, and the bright white one has a quick-slideover lens that lets you go from a narrow beam to more of a flood. These are all modern high-intensity LED's, and I trust them to last for many many years. They are not considered replace-able because they just don't need replacing. This is a very impressive headlamp for such a small light unit. I bought it as a lightweight backup for a 45-mile 24-hour trek in the Grand Canyon. If I were going to do the trip again (which involved over 10 hours of night hiking) I would consider going with two of these (instead of the heavier one I had with the xp2 as backup). I've always loved my Petzl Tikka lamps, but this one is the best yet by far, and strikingly bright for such a small, light unit. I know I sound like I'm trying to sell it, but I don't work for Sunny or any other gear company. I just think Petzl gear is awesome, and it has served me in some pretty tough conditions.
