Comments about Outdoor Research Halo Sombrero:

I like the magnets on the sides that allow the brim to just flip up on the sides. Also the removable chin strap is nice in windy weather and on the bike. The hat gives great protection from the sun, but it could use more venting as there is only one venting slot on the back and in the sun my head gets very sweaty under the hat. Overall though I like this hat much better than the OR Sombriolet Sun Hat, even though that hat is more vented, because of the OR Halo Sombrero's magnets and stiffer wired brim.

I have the blue version but wanted a khaki version for a trip to Egypt and Jordan next month. I have used the blue one several times and once hiked all day in the rain and never had any issues with leaking.

I've only worn this hat a couple of times so far, but I have no complaints.
Its very light and packable. The magnets for the sides work great, but aren't overly strong. The mesh liner and rear vent really helps in the warm weather here in South Carolina.
