This jacket is lightweight, gore-tex (waterproof) fits well and looks nice. The side zipper is more than just a pit zip, it opens in either direction the entire length of the jacket, really useful!!

I use this Foray jacket exclusively for protection against the elements such as pouring down rain,outer-shell over a soft-shell in ice cold weather.Mainly to keep snow and frost off the inner soft-shell (which happens to be a Outdoor Research down parka with a hood).

Comments about Outdoor Research Foray Jacket for Men:

First of all, normally items with GORE-TEX don't require any kind spray rain repellant or water-proofing,but since I'm pretty much of an extremist why wait.Everything about the Foray jacket is good, it's probably one of my better buys.A 3-4 season garment dedicated to keep you dry and comfy.

Comments about Outdoor Research Foray Jacket for Men:

The rain arrived like unwanted relatives, and I decided that despite the downpour, it's an ideal day to don my recently purchased Outdoor Research Foray jacket and pants. Now admittedly this was for a suburban trek to the library and back -- and I add this for dramatic effect: this trip was a *must* -- but it was still fraught with getting-soaked-through-and-through danger.

It took me ages to find the right rain gear. I looked high and low, brand after brand, and decided on the Foray line. I read good things, liked the looks of its features, and I knew that this weather would be a good trial for me and them. I wore them inside a bit to get used to the fit, adjust the hood, etc. Then it was onto the outdoors.

Amazing -- the folks at Outdoor Research sure know how to make a heck of a product. Yep, the rain and wind were there, but it didn't matter. I powered through the elements in stride to and from my destination, returning bone-dry.

This jacket is now my go-to garment for any stormy weather activity. I am glad I chose it over the rest -- very, very impressive.

            Questions about this item:

Shopper  Just a question about the color. Can anyone tell me if the color "Diablo" is more of a red or an orange? On the OR site it looks more like a red, but on another site it looks orange. Thanks!
MICHAEL B  I've seen the "Diablo" color before - it's more on the orange side of an orange/red hue... I believe the true red for OR is called "Patrol Red" - not available in the Foray from what I've seen. Just a heads up - I normally wear a Medium, but went with a Small in the Foray... I'm 5'10", 173lbs, athletic build.
