I have used these shoes for Extreme off-trail mountain hiking/climbing for a long time. However, I've never used them for multi-day heavy pack treks. Only complaint is that you need to reinforce the rubber sole side attachments with shoe glue as they come unattached after a few scrapes. I've had to do this with every pair bought and in fact now put glue along the sides before I even use the shoe for the first hike. Bill
