I love this tent! This is one of the cheapest TNF 3-person tents, and does not lack in quality. This tent was purchased specifically for 3 season backpacking and it has been put to work plenty this season without a hitch. The footprint is an extra $45 and the square gear loft another $20. I also replaced the stakes with DAC, as I don't have much faith in the ones it came with. All in all, it was still cheaper than others in its class and just as good if not better.
There is plenty of space ...to move around and has lots of pockets for storage (I recommend you shell out the extra $ for the gear loft for even more storage). Plenty of mesh for ventilation but not so much that it feels like you're sleeping in a bug screen. I'm not a huge fan of mostly mesh tents. The rain fly straps on with Velcro for added security. I love how the footprint, tent body and rain fly have color coded corners making set up a breeze. There are two doors and two vestibules. We can fit 2 packs, 2 pairs of boots and miscellaneous items under one vestibule, making the other a dedicated, unobstructed entry way. It hasn't undergone harsh wind so I can't comment on its stability, but once staked down and all is secured in place, it feels pretty bomb proof. It did rain heavily one evening yet all was dry. No issues with condensation either.
It is rated for 3 people, but is comfortably used by two people and one pug (the 2 person was too small). I would not recommend this as a 3 person, unless you are all intimate and don't mind sleeping next to feet. Its hefty at 6lbs but divide that weight with your partner and it's fine.
Included are 8 (cheap) stakes, but there are 14 stake points (not 16 as one reviewer stated). As aforementioned, I replaced those with two packs of DACs (16 total) and keep the two extra as backup.
This is a great option for those of you looking for a reasonably priced quality backpacking or small car camping tent. I highly recommend it!!
First, let me say to the subscribers who wrote that this tent is crammed for three people - buy a four man tent. Second, if you're putting an air mattress in this tent, yes, the poles "may not" do what they were intended to do and break. I purchased this tent almost two years ago and it is every thing what North Face said it was supposed to do. I purchased it for my wife and I to use for our yearly camping trips in the mountains or at the beach. It held up on both west and east coast trips an...d in very rainy weather in the Pacific Northwest and in very windy and cold conditions in the winter season on the Northeastern side of the country. Everything from backpacks, sleeping bags, and clothes fit just right and of course, this is a three man tent so pack and camp accordingly and you would be just fine. The only thing I would request is make more color options.
The North Face Stormbreak 3 Tent gives you ample room for three to sleep comfortably and for all your gear. Featuring two full doors and vestibules, the three of you won't be climbing all over each other to get in and out. A fully seam taped canopy and floor plus an easy pitch design give you the weather protection you need in an easy to set up style that will have you spending more time on fun things than pitching your tent. With high and low ventilation and plenty of headroom, the Stormbreak 3 Tent has everything you need for backpacking or car camping.

3 season. It's a double wall tent so it allows LOTS of air to pass through.

This can be used as a four season tent . Sleeping bag according to the weather . Side note - The stormbreak 3 is advertised as a 3 person tent . It is a comfortable 2 person tent . If you have 3 people it would have to be two adults and a small child . If your sleeping 3 adults it is going to be very tight quarters.
