Overall, I can't give a personal review of the backpack. And I just gave it to someone for Christmas I can't say it's "durable" and it'll "last forever", etc. However, so far he's loved his backpack. I gave it to a guy friend of mine (18 years old) and he used it immediately on his trip to Arizona for Christmas break. He said it worked great to carry his laptop and x-box.

When I had received it, for the most part I was happy; The padding on the back was a little too stiff for my liking though. It did hold the shape of the bag, but I wonder if it would get annoying after a while?

Purchased this backpack for my daughter to use for school and the back piece that normally is padded and rests against your back is thin, stiff (resembles cardboard) and unflexible. The fabric which zips closed is paper thin. I would not recommend this product and now am a firm believer that companies make different levels of quality, some not standing up to the quality in which the name implies. Bought my other daughter a High Sierra backpack for less money and it is much better quality.

    Simple and Practical

Comments about The North Face Vault Daypack:

I use it for traveling and carrying around my netbook. It's simple, practical, and at a good price. It doesn't have all the annoying straps hanging from it. However, it would be nice if it had a water bottle side pocket but it's not really a big deal.

Perfect backpack, with the exception that it doesn't have a laptop holder within the backpack (although you could easily fit a backpack in there without one)

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
ARUN H  low cost name brand for my teenager

JORDAN B  There are two main pockets. The biggest is obviously you're load pocket. The front is your "utility" pocket. I use mine as a "business" day pack. I'm not my dad, so refuse the briefcase and use this. The main pocket is large enough to hold a days worth of documents, plus an emergency run to the grocery store for milk and other essentials. I like the front for my chargers, headphones and pens. If you want a "I don't wanna be a big kid" business pack, this is it. It's great for air travel, fits loaded under seats easily and it's always a no brainer for carry on luggage. Can fit a day and half's worth of clothes. Great pack, for a cheap, cheap amount, considering the branding. Without the nicks and cuts of a blade...
