Comments about The North Face Spire 40 Pack:

Product is made out durable material was one good pointer over other similar North Face products such as Terra series. Just like any other pack from North Face, it is easy to adjust to fit you. I think I'm between Minimalist and comfort driven so depending on your gear, you may really need to work on 40pack but overall I was able to meet what I need. Pack fits well fit for me and nothing seems to be an issue yet. I think most important thing is to choose right size (S/M/L) and the pack size. Took while to go which way. I was looking at 60 pack but for what I need 40 would be good and try to replace old stuff to make lighter and go toward minimalist gear. Outside of pack has enough hook to hang things so I think you will find you can make it with this 40 pack for you hiking ....

The backpack looks really cool, and it is lighter than I expected. And I just love the color (black one).

Marino d  Does the pack have a detachable top lid?
JOHN P  No it does not. One thing to also note that it's top-load only. The only external compartment the pack has is the zipper pouch front center.
