Comments about The North Face Recon Daypack:

The North Face makes top quality jackets and backpacks. High end? Sort of, but you can't argue with the value. This backpack has an incredibly premium look and feel to it.

There is a good amount of room for most purposes. I don't use it for camping as of now, just office and school. The main compartment has a slot for a laptop and a slot for a tablet (make sure your laptop can fit the slot - <15"). The second compartment is an organizer for pens, notebooks, etc. Then you have a small compartment that is about 5" deep for small stuff. There of course is the big mesh pocket in the front that looks perfect for stashing shoes, shirts, etc. Lastly there are mesh pockets on both sides for drinks or whatever you want (I use it for apples).

The padding is awesome, good protection for a laptop and comfort on the back is unmatched. There is a clip that brings the straps together and takes a great amount of load off the shoulders and distributes it to larger muscles of the core. Its not that necessary unless your bag is very heavy and you're going to be walking for miles. Not to crazy about the way it just hangs when your not using it though. Material feels strong enough to hold up for a lifetime of normal daily use.

Can't really say anything bad about the backpack. The North Face is an excellent brand but it has become mainstream. Along with iphones, TNF jackets and backpacks seem to be an American staple. They are the best though so it shouldn't be a turn off by any means unless you try to make a point to be a non-conformist.

I owned one of the old Jester bags before and it was awesome, held up for a long time with a lot of heavy books and stretching. I've had other backpacks (Ralph Lauren, Jansport) that are simply below par compared to this.

Wonderful backpack and wonderful deal on Sunnysports. Very, very happy customer!

Comments about The North Face Recon Daypack:

I first got the Recon backpack five and a half years ago and finally decided it was time to replace it. I couldn't bring myself to stray from what I already knew was the perfect bag for me, so I just purchased another recon in a different color. This pack has been back and forth with me to high school, college, overseas trips, and on the occasional camping trip. It has provided me with the perfect amount of storage, academically and recreationally, and even carried enough to be my only bag on a week-long vacation. Honestly, if you're looking for a great bag that will last you for years, you've found it.

Comments about The North Face Recon Daypack:

Needed a new backpack for college, pricing was terrific, many colors to choose from. First drawback, found the zipper to be a little shy in length so you have to load in smaller items first towards front of bag in large compartment. Secondly, no padding for a laptop should you put it in there.
