is the shoulder strap specially shaped for women so as not to cut near the arm pit?
I just summited Mt. Whitney yesterday and I can tell you as much as I liked my pack especially it's waist band this doesn't have the best or even close to best shoulder straps. It's something I didn't think much of until yesterday. All my training hikes were not as long as Mt. Whitney (22 miles) and probably tested the pack in carrying weight which may have contributed to the area that you describe which today I am feeling tender and sore to the touch. If you're looking for a lightweight pack this is it but as for storage it's compartments are great but function and ease of accsess could be improved. I would recommend this pack for day use and shorter hikes.
