Comments about The North Face Cassius Triclimate Jacket for Men:

I ordered this jacket a few weeks ago, after having done a lot of comparison shopping for TNF jackets, both online and in stores. Sunny Sports had the best price I've seen anywhere for this item (or comparable ones) and they were offering free shipping. It was supposed to arrive in 3-5 business days, but came in just 2 days, which was GREAT, b/c the temperature dropped a lot that week and I really needed a warm jacket.

I've been very happy so far w/ the Cassius jacket. When zipped up all the way it does a good job stopping the wind. It is snug, without being tight and there is still plenty of room for a fleece or heavy sweater. I'm 6'2" and about 215, so I ordered an XL and the fit is great. The only small negative, which I share w/ other reviewers, is that the sleeve fasteners tend to come undone pretty easily when pulling my arms out of the jacket quickly. It's a very minor inconvenience though and easily remedied.

I highly recommend Sunny Sports and would buy from them again. Unfortunately this jacket was discontinued, but there are other similar models available, and I would definitely buy more TNF items in the future.

The only thing I wish it had was drawstrings on the liner. That is such a minuscule detail and doesn't take away from the jackets greatness.

Comments about The North Face Cassius Triclimate Jacket for Men:

I purchased this jacket for everyday wear and for camping trips during the seasonal transition periods of late fall and early spring. It's robust construction and no-snag zippers haven't let me down. The only issue I have with the Cassius Triclimate Jacket is that the sleeve retention clip/loop system that hooks the inner jacket to the outer shell regularly disconnect when I pull my arms out of the sleeves. While annoying, the versatilty of the triclimate design FAR outweighs this shortcoming. The outer shell isn't 100% windproof, but it is a waterproof, breatheable fabric so maybe this is normal. When wearling the shell and inner jacket together, I've not felt the wind or the cold. I've worn the jacket in cold down to 12 degrees F (while working) and remained warm without overheating. I've worn the inner+shell at 40 degrees F and had to vent some heat out.

The jackets zip together in about 2 minutes with warm fingers. The detachable shell hood stores nicely in the shell's chest pocket. The jackets unzip from each other in a minute.

I layer clothing underneath this jacket easily. I usually wear a Men's Large and this is what I purchased. The fit is comfortable with both layering and when I just have a single shirt on. The fit is not baggy, and the black color hasn't been a huge pet hair magnet.

I have had NorthFace Jackets for the last 35 years and each jacket has lasted me 10-15 years of regular use. I don't buy jackets as a fashion statement. I buy them to keep me warm during hikes, camping and working outside. They need to do their job and hold up to real usage. This Jacket has done this so far during the last 3 months.

            Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
KIMOTHY C  I liked the idea of the three-layers in one jacket. It was going to be a gift for a man. When I got it, I did not like the material it was made of. Kind of like vinal. It was heavy and made me think it was for deep sea fishermen to stay insulated from the cold and wet weather.
Shopper  Will my Denali fleece also be able to be zipped into the shell (obviously in lieu of the filled liner)?
FAISAL M  I dont think so, I have a windwall and Apex jacket and I cannot attach them...
