Comments about The North Face Mercurial Liner Sleeping Bag - Regular Size:

I bought this to replace a 25 year old bulky nylon bag and it made a world of difference. I spent a week in a scout camp with platform tent and this bag was perfect. The weather was hot during the day - up in the 90's, and cooled down at night to maybe the mid 50's, and the bag was great. It packed small enough in my suitcase, and was comfy. One night it was hot and I had the thin side up, and that was good, on cooler nights I had the thicker side up. The two different thicknesses would make it weird to use this bag unzipped as a blanket or double, but for my week in the Catskills I was very happy with it but could not tell you how it performs in cooler weather.

Comments about The North Face Mercurial Liner Sleeping Bag - Regular Size:

My North Face down bag is too warm for the Sierra's in summer below 5000 ft. I have tried other liners and disliked them so much I retuned them. This 2 #er kept the chill away in 40 temp nights. Breathed well, so no sweating and sticking to the fabric. Used the stuff stack as a pillow. I liked it better than my trusty travel pillow. Works great for on-the-road travel thus far. I wish it squished down a little smaller. It will go with me to Europe next month.

          Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
DANIEL A  light and perfect for summer backpacking
Shopper  the product can be washable and dry in dryer?
BRIAN C  I've never washed it. I assume there are care directions and would follow those.
Sam S  The features on the website describe the zipper on the 'left side.' However, the packaging describes the sleeping bag as 'left hand.' Does this mean the sleeping bag is designed for a left handed person? Thanks.
BIN Y  Well, my understanding is that the "left side"/"right side" is referring to the position of zipper, which implies if you have a left side sleeping bag and a right side one, you can make the two into a big one that fits for two persons. So you don't need to worry about it if you are using it by yourself. Btw, I'm right handed, and I don't have any problem with it. Hope that helps.
