Nice bag for tall people

By Sam Gamgee

from Kansas City, Missouri

Pros

  • long fit
  • Plenty of space

Cons

    Best Uses

I have just received this product so I haven't had the opportunity to camp with it yet, but I have had the chance to test the fit. I am between 6'4" and 6'5" and I have had a tough time finding a long bag that actually fit well. This bag was plenty long for me and I was quite comfortable fitting into it. I think that someone slightly taller than the 6'6" limit could fit into it, but I wouldn't recommend it until this person had a chance to try it first hand. I am a stocky guy, and still had plenty of space, would easily accommodate fitting some clothes in the torso section with me to warm them up in the morning. The only feature that I felt could be improved, at my first time checking this bag, is that the girth in the foot box could have a few more inches. Tall people, in general, tend to have longer feet (I am about a 14 or 15, depending on brand) and I felt like my feet were a bit cramped. On the plus side I had more room through the legs and torso than most mummy bags. I generally prefer a fleece lining, only for comfort, but the Pertex material was very comfortable against the skin. The collar was not constrictive, and quite ample. I was able to pull the hood closed very tight, which I like when camping in very cold weather.
