Is this fit for 12-year old kid?
Sorry, i don't know coz my kids r 7 years old!
The short answer is, no. My 10 y.o. is 4'-9" and the bag is just long enough. I've handed the Aleutian youth bag down to my 7 y.o. and purchased a regular length women's bag (up to 5'-6" claimed height range). The NF Aleutian is a very nice bag IMO. It is a scaled down adult bag - not cheaply made kids stuff. I'd buy it again. It doesn't pack super small in the supplied stuff sack, and it may not be as light as some other 20F bags. However it does compress pretty small in a roll top dry bag. And the weight is not a big deal, IMO. My kids generally only carry their bag, thermarest, and personal gear (clothing, snacks, book, light, etc). An extra pound for the synth. bag is trivial. I've compared this to other youth bags and for the price, I'd say it is a "buy".
I think so, but my guess is that you might want to buy a full size sleeping bag for a 12 year old so that it last longer. I am guessing that a 12 year old, depending on size, will be at the outer limit of the sizing.
Probably not all 12 year olds....only small ones.
Bought it for my toddler, but I'm a five foot tall woman and it's comfy for me too.
The specs are available online and no one knows the height of your 12-year old like you do. I suggest comparing the two.
Yes, I purchased this for my 7 year old. Works great and gives him several years to grow length wise. Just double check the length against your child's height, but unless he/she is very tall it should be fine. High quality bag and my son loves it.
I bought two of these for my 7 (60 pounds?) and 9 year old (65 pounds?). It's a perfect size for them (or younger), especially if they need to carry it on a hike. My 12 year old tried it out, and there was very little room to spare (and he isn't a very big 12 year old - wears 12 slim jeans and might be about 75-80 pounds, maybe 4'10"). He would grow out of it very fast. The price is attractive for a North Face bag, but I'd be reluctant to buy it for a 12 year old due to the rapid grow-out-factor.
Incidentally, I got into it (I'm 5'3" small framed mom)and it was definitely too small for me.
This bag seems too short for a 12 year old. There would be little to no room to grow.
The product description says it fits up to 5 FT tall child ... So it depends on your child's size & whether you want a sleeping bag the child can grow into for a few years. I bought this for my 4 year old in order to have it fior few years.
If in doubt , read the product specifications & details to get the measurements of any sleeping bag you plan to purchase, as they come in different lengths for children, small adults, large adults etc. So far I've been happy with the purchase for my now 6 year old petite child. For my 8 year old, we bought a down 20f Kelty in the small adult size & that is much more compact & weighs less.
My son is only 4 and one half. I cannot answer.
Might be a little small for that age, I'd probably look for adult size
It would depend on their height. I don't think it would fit anyone taller than 5 feet. I am 5'4" and have tried it out for size and it is too small, but it has been an incredible bag for all 3 of my young kids and would highly recommend it!
