Questions about this item:

steve m  I bought a pair of Mountainsmith carbonlite trekking poles at the outlet store in Cody, Wyoming last year...mainly because I am a HUGE Mountainsmith fan. After using the poles for less than a year...one I extended and the lock didn't hold; the other I was never able to open because it was locked so tight that even with WD40 and vice grips...couldn't open it I will buy these (Mountainsmith Carbonite Trekking poles) if I have some assurance that they will work???? thank you
Paula F  We have not had any problems with the locking mechanism on our poles. We don't use them often. My wife (I'm the husband) had problems initially with the locking mechanism, but turned out she was not putting force on the correct part of the pole. For the price, we couldn't be happier with these poles. Good luck.
Daniel S  I have four sets of poles and have not had a problem with any of them.I would buy another pair ,you will most likely have better success with them.
LouAnn T  i am a woman at 5'3", would the Mountainsmith Carbonlite Pro be good for me?
DAVID Y  My wife is 5' 2" and she loves these poles. They are just barely short enough for her. They are also very light.
Jamie B  Yes. They are adjustable and light. I used mine during a 100 mile hike at Philmont Scout Ranch. They worked great! I did need to buy new rubber tips afterwards, but that was due to using the tips in rough terrain. Hindsight - using the metal tips would have been better. In selecting the poles I was shopping for quality and cost. At the time, these were the best hiking poles for the money.
DON S  Yes they would fit you since they are very adjustable. They can easily be adjusted for anyone from 4'0" to 6'6"+. I like mine enough that I bought a 2nd pair for my daughter. They are light, strong and the spring loading does take some shock out when walking.
