About Mustang Survival High Impact SAR Vest

The Mustang Survival High Impact SAR Vest is strength tested to 100 mph (161 kph) meaning it has been designed, tested and approved to hold-up to rigorous activities. The high neoprene lined collar provides impact protection by minimizing neck mobility and the large 3-belt adjustment system creates a secure fit. Large cutaway armholes for maximum range of motion, bright orange fabric for low visibility, large zippered front cargo pockets for storage and multi-purpose fast tab radio clip makes this durable and comfortable personal floatation device (PFD) a functional part of your personal protective equipment.

The Vest has a full front zipper closure, adjustable waist strap with squeeze-style" quick-release buckle and for added Safety 62 square inches (1,016 cu. cm.) of SOLAS reflective tape for high visibility in night or low light conditions. Vest is made from durable nylon with foam for floatation. Vest comes in multiple-sizes.

Mario C  APBA rating not mentioned by manufacturer. and do not see the side flotation requirement on it as well. do not believe it is.
David C  Is this vest approved for use with pwc's and what is it's buoyancy rating?
Mario C  Thank you for your question. This is a coast guard approved safety vest class III, meaning it has at least 15.5lbs of buoyancy. As Jeff mentioned, go through the size chart and do note the fitting weights as those would cover enough buoyancy for your safety. To fully comply with PWC vest requirements you need to add a signaling device, such as a whistle. Jeff L  Order the size that fits you and it is rated for your weight. You are required to have a life preserver with when operating a PWC and some states require you to wear them. I use them because we are professionals working on the water and they have a warm high collar.
