what is the difference between lightning axis and ascent that make the latter more expensive? I can't tell from the written descriptions. I want to buy one or the other.
LAURIEN H My husband has the Accent and I have the Axis. I find it much much easier to get the binding nice and tight on the Accent. But they are both very nice and you will not be disapointed.
JAMES S The Axis allow the orientation of your foot in relation to the snowshoe to pivot. For instance, if you're slightly pigeon toed and wearing the Ascents the front of the snowshoes will tend to bang against each other and you'll probably trip. The Axis allow you to pivot the foot mount to correct for your feet pointing inward. Your feet still point in but the snowshoes are parallel to each other. Voila! No more banging and tripping.
My wife and I both have the Axis and love them
