MSR Lightning Ascent Snowshoe
The MSR Lightning Ascent Snowshoe is the ideal product for you when you're treading through layers of snow. This product has 360 degree traction frames that deliver unrivaled edge to edge grip. The split teeth of the Torsion2 crampons better distribute the force, meaning that weight is spread fairly evenly. A two-piece, independently conformed PosiLock AT creates a secure, freeze resistant attachment regardless of footwear. The modular flotation tails give you the mobility of a smaller shoe, while providing you with the option of an extra 5 in. flotation so you can move through any level of snow whether deep or not. The Ergo televators increase traction and reduce fatigue on steep slopes with an improved ergonomic design, which can be activated with a single flip of a pole grip. Thanks to the MSR Lightning Ascent Snowshoe, you can tread through any snowy terrain with confidence.

Comments about MSR Lightning Ascent Snowshoe (pair):
The first place I used them was the Belknap Range in NH, I went from Gunstock Mountain parking lot to Mt. Major parking lot. (7 mountains)
I wore Koflach Arctis Expe Plastic Boots size 11, they stayed secure all day.
The second time I used the MSR's was on two different mountains in the Belknap range but I wore my Nepal EVO GTX Mountaineering Boots, secure all day too.
There was a couple sections that allowed me to try out the heel lift and traction, the heel lift is a big plus in the steep terrain and the traction was very good. One section had me wishing I brought my Crampons, though it wasn't steep and icy for long it made me appreciate the traction the MSR's had. I originally wanted these because my Easton Hike snowshoes were to big for the trails in the White Mountains and the traction was not made for steep terrain.
