Shopper  What are these used for? Snowshoes? what kind? Anyone....
JAMES B  My wife and I have the MSR Lightning Ascent Snowshoes. While trekking in extreme cold, I lost my balance and stepped onto the binding of my downhill snowshoe. Two of the standard plastic strap keeper shattered, leaving the tail of the straps flapping with every step. These aluminum studs replace the standard plastic strap keepers, and are unbreakable. In my opinion, I believe these expedition strap keepers are compatible with all MSR snowshoe bindings that use the urethane straps with holes spaced 3/8" apart. Contact Cascade Designs for confirmation. Since these keepers are aluminum studs, you must be able to press the strap down onto the stud, and this may be difficult when wearing bulky gloves. I prefer them over the standard keepers because once they are set, they do not come loose until you deliberately yank the strap off of the stud.
