20 Years, Zero Problems

By Wandering J.

I got this stove as a gift back in 1998. I've never needed anything else. During most of that span I have been a frequent camper, including multiple months-long bouts of living out of a backpack full-time while traveling. The MSR Dragonfly went everywhere with me, burned every kind of fuel, and performed reliably in every condition, from high altitude melting snow in -20 C to humid tropics to extreme desert heat below sea level. The power output on full puts higher end stoves to shame (powerf...

From Norway 1998, Iraq 2009-2010 and Poland 2018

By Lifer

I received my DragonFly stove as a Christmas present in 1997. I took it to Norway in March 1998. I was serving in the US Marines. The stove worked perfectly in the Arctic. I mainly used it to boil snow into water to re-hydrate the freeze-dried "Rations, Cold Weather".the next ten years I used it every time I went camping. The only issue I had was the older style pump cracked. I called MSR customer service and they sent me the new replacement pump for free. I left the Marine Corps in 2001. I e...

MSR DragonFly Stove
Enjoy good meals out in the great outdoors with this MSR DragonFly Stove. This stove from MSR comes with a dual-valve design that lets you adjust the flame to fit your needs. It is very lightweight, allowing you to take it on all your adventures with ease. Its three wide pot supports are capable of holding larger MSR pots despite its small size. It provides you with enough power to cook and heat up your food very fast. This very impressive little stove can burn white gas, kerosene, and unleaded auto fuel. It can boil water for coffee, soup, or other uses in about 3.5 minutes. Plus, you can easily fold it to about a third of its size so that it takes up very little room anywhere that you pack it. Questions about this item:

dike p  does this include the pump?
ROBERT S  Yes, a pump is included. But I would not buy this stove again because the pot holder is to far away from the flame causing loss of heat and slower cooking time. Another problem with the stove is the noise, it is very loud. The msr whisper lite also witb a pump wouldd be my choice for a stove.
JOHNNY G  Hi Dike. Yes the pump is included. However the fuel bottle is not included. I got the small bote and have to carry extra fuel as a backup. The stove will burn just about any combustible liquid. The stove needs a good level base as it is prong to turn over if pot is large and full. Enjoy. Johnny
KELLY H  Yes.
BRIAN D  Yes, the pump is included.
Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
JOSH V  For the backcountry gourmet chef in me I wanted heating control and a larger, supportive base- MSR is the example that most all other manufacturers follow.
