    Comments about MSR Blizzard Stake:

This is a great snow-stake with holes in the middle to be used as a deadman's anchor in the snow or sand. If you're facing expedition conditions above tree line, I suggest you buy a real set of snow anchors. But for most backpacking conditions non-gale force winds, these babies will do just fine.

If you KNOW you'll be camping on snow, these are some of the best stakes available. If you want more versatility in soil, the Mountain Hardwear X Stake is also a consideration. It too can be used as a deadman's anchor but works better as a traditional stake.

The worst part of this stake is that cheap sticker label that leaves an gooey residue. You'll need some WD40 or Goo gone or other solvent if this bothers you.

    Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
DENNIS T  Needed winter stakes. They work great.
Shopper  Is this for only one stake or do they come in sets?
DENNIS T  It is for one stake. They are quite substantial stakes, designed to hold in snow, so they have a much larger profile than an ordinary stake.
