The last Marmot jacket I owned was 25 years old and finally gave up the ghost. This one is even better and am hoping it will last as long

Comments about Marmot Tamarack Jacket for Men:

I was looking for a new jacket for skiing and commuting to work. This jacket works great for both. I plan on getting a zip in fleece at some point but have been layering with my current fleece which also works great. I've used this in the snow and rain and have stayed dry and warm. I got it in black so I can use it for skiing and casual wear and am very happy with the look.
I'm 6' tall and 190lbs. and got a large which fits perfectly with enough room for layering.
Get this jacket, you won't be disappointed.

Comments about Marmot Tamarack Jacket for Men:

It was tough to find a compatible insert for this jacket at first. Marmot "says" that their "Caldron & Approach" jackets will zip in but the Caldron is nearly impossible to find in Medium size and the Approach doesn't have the correct zipper. I bought an REI fleece with a large zipper that seems to fit and my Feathered Friends (expensive) down jack fits PERFECTLY.

            Questions about this item:

David Z  It this jacket a 3 in 1 jackets, which include a outer waterproof jacket plus a removable inner fleece jacket?
JARED M  I purchased a Tamarack jacket in December of 2011 mainly for my work at a ski resort in west central Idaho. I'm out on the hill pretty much everyday I'm at work and I've been super pleased with the Tamarack jacket. When the temps dip below 25 degrees or so I put on a fleece mid-layer and I stay perfectly comfortable. The jacket breaths well and I've never had any problem with staying dry while wearing it. I'd strongly recommend it. Remember, it is not a shell, so it's going to act warmer than the cold protection that a shell would normally provide. Having said that, it does not have a removable fleece liner, either. It simply has some insulation, but not enough to be called a parka, in my estimation.
