Excellent, but Sandstone darker than pic

    Comments about Marmot Urban Hauler:

Ordered this great bag on sale for a very specific purpose: to take semi-heavy camera gear into museums. A lot of museums and other public galleries have visitors check in their backpacks, so I wanted a bag that could convert between tote and backpack so that I could take bring a my heavy SLR into a space while not hurting my back on the walk there.

The Sandstone color is actually a little darker than pictured: more of a taupe-ish yellow-gray than the whitish heather shown. Very large capacity: the tag on the bag says 28 L. Overall excellent; I only wish the color were just a touch lighter.

I use this primarily as a diaper bag. Its a great size and so light and comfortable. I will use it for short hikes, trips to the pool, etc.

      Questions about this item:

      Shopper  ARE THE STRAPS PADDED?
SHARON D  They are layered like the back of the pack (where the pack would rest against your back). Which is to say, it has two or three layers of material, but it does not feature padding-specific material like foam. It's gentler on you than say a plain nylon webbing strap, and breathes better too, so its comfortable for light to medium loads. I wouldn't carry, say, textbooks with this kind of strap. Hope that helps and sorry to be so late in responding!
