Comments about Marmot Odin 35 Pack:
My boyfriend and I are avid campers and it was his birthday a few weeks ago. I have been wanting to give him a backpack to replace the aging duffle bag he was using previously. I spent months researching bag after bag after bag until I kept coming back to this one.
The Marmot Odin 35 is everything it claims to be. What I love about it the most is its versatility, it is not a large pack but neither a small pack; it can be used for a weekend camping trip, a day hike, a long bike ride, or just dragging gear to and from work. With its internal stint and removable support panel, it gives the feel of an external frame backpack without being cumbersome; its multiple latch points give ample opportunity to attach additional components such as a sleeping pad and other gear. This pack is mildly waterproof, however, due to the likelihood of attaching items that are not waterproof, I highly recommend getting a pack cover so its a non-issue. The pack is big enough to easily fit a hiking tent, sleeping bag, clothes and a reasonable amount of food supplies; everything else can conveniently attach to the external loops.
This pack is good for beginners and advanced camping professionals; Marmot is always excellent quality. If you are going camping for longer than 3 days I might recommend getting a larger capacity backpack, there is also a Marmot Odin 50 with more space for items.
