how large (deep and wide) is the brim?
Hi, I measure 2 3/4" deep, at the center, and 7 1/4" at its absolute widest point. Definitely deeper than a regular baseball cap, and I think it's terrific as a rain cap.
the cap is 6 1/2 deep from the center of the hat & 7 inches wide.
The brim is about the size of a traditional baseball cap. I have a smaller head and wear a 6 7/8 hat and this hat is a perfect fit. There is plenty of room for larger heads but might be tight on a very large head......great hay. I love to wear it under the hood of my precip jacket as well as on its own during backpacking. Light weight and not to hot. Great hat.
I don't have a ruler handy, but these hats are pretty much standard baseball cap size and shape (like every baseball cap you've ever owned), except they are made with a really nice ripstop DWR fabric and they have a separate inner liner that is 100% waterproof. They aren't small brimmed like some running caps. Terrifc all-around cool or foul-weather cap. Probably not quite breathable enough for a hot summer day with no rain in the forecast.
the brim is 7" where it attaches to the rest of the hat and 3" long in the front. it's a medium bill in the ball cap world. I wear a 7 1/4 and was looking for more of a form fitting, waterproof hat - this is it. Try one - I now own four in different colors.
The brim is good length but it makes your head look smushed since the cap is not very deep.
The brim is not much deeper than a normal ball cap. The cap is a great fit. I wear hats everyday and this one is one of the better fitting ones.
