Bought this jacket for a 7 day paddling trip on the St. John River, Maine. Rained everyday and I stayed completely dry. Even in heavy downpours.

Comments about Marmot Minimalist Jacket for Men:

Haven't really put this jacket to the test, so can't comment much on function. I'm 5'8'', medium build, and other Marmot jackets in small fit me no problem. This jacket is a really small fit and I could just get it on. I donated the one I bought and ordered a medium. Fits well, with thinner layers under. It's comfortable to wear, movement is not restricted and has good pockets.

Comments about Marmot Minimalist Jacket for Men:

My current jacket is a replacement for a lost Minimalist Jacket XXL. It is a handy, compact and fairly rainproof shell for most purposes. The fit however, on this new one, seems different (smaller). I am the same size but this jacket seems smaller all around. The sleeve length seems the same but the chest fit is tighter, it seems shorter and the hood is definitely smaller. The current XXL does not fit well over my parka, does not have room enough for a helmet and covers my mouth when fully zipped. Also, the material wears poorly and becomes shiny, especially at the cuffs.

Comments about Marmot Minimalist Jacket for Men:

An amazing product all around. If you want to put on a rain jacket and forget you are wearing anything, then this is the jacket you are looking for. Although I can not speak towards its durability, I can say this is a extremely waterproof, windproof, and breathable jacket. Marmot always produces exceptional products, and this jacket is not exception. Not to mention what a price.

Comments about Marmot Minimalist Jacket for Men:

I initially bought a large but realized that I really needed a XL so I could do layering underneath. Sunny Sports was very helpful with the return process. I had to get a different color but that was not a big issue with me. The product is great. It is well designed and light weight enough to take hiking. I recommend this product to anyone.

            Questions about this item:

Shopper  I would like to know more about gore tex quality used in this jacket, it is fully waterproof and fully gore tex?
NIKOLAY L  Yes, it is fully waterproof and fully gore tex.
Shopper  Hi can you tell me if this is the 2011 or 2012 model?
SASHA W  I believe this is the 2012 jacket. From what I've seen online the 2011 has a zipper in the left pocket that you can pack the jacket into and a tag on the inside in between the shoulders that can be used along with a velcro size adjuster on the back of the hood to roll the hood up and secure it like a collar. This jacket does not have those features but it does seem to be a very good jacket. If you can get around not having those features it is a great jacket for the money. You can still pack the jacket into its pocket but there is no way to zip the pocket closed.
Shopper  Good afternoon, I would like to know if Marmot can provide a repair kit for this jacket in case of tear or break in the material. If so can you provide a part number estimated cost? Thank You Bert
DAVID D  Hi, Great jacket. I'd contact Marmot directly and see If customer service can help you. They are awesome to deal with. You may find they prefer to repair the item themselves so it's done right and won't fail in the field. But they may offer a kit. If they can't help you and you're looking for a kit to keep in your pack or at base camp then I'd do a search. I'm sure someone sells a Gortex repair kit online. Good luck!
