Is the lining of this jacket a microfiber or something similar with regards to the back, arms, and chest?
RAY S
Microfiber.
DANIEL M
The chest is lined with a meshed fabric, I think polyester. The back and arms are brushed polyester, so yes, probably microfiber. Not super warm, but enough for cool weather.

Oh...one more thing:
The blue is much brighter than in the picture. Could be good or bad...depending on what you like.
KAT H
No, ours was more of a slick material...similar to the outside layer of a high quality ski coat. I do feel like the coat rans small, by the way. It's nice, and quite warm for being a lightweight coat.

Is this ok for riding a road bike? Will it not expose the end of the back when hunched on a bike ride? Thanks - Mike

This jacket has a long "tail" on it, so your lower back remains covered when hunched over.

I bought this jacket for hiking. May be it is ok for riding a road bike in fall and winter, since it is some thick. And it will not expose the end of the back when you hunched on a bike ride. (I am 175cm high and 73kg weight)

Does anyone know if the Approach Softshell will zip inside of a Marmot Tamarack Jacket?
Donnie D
UPS man just stopped by. The Approach is super nice and zips into the Tamarack perfectly. I don't know how the loops on the end of the Tamarack sleeves attach to the Approach but thats not a big deal. If anyone knows and feels like it please advise. The blue Approach looks good with the black Tamarack. The only blue you see is on the collar and looks rather stylish.
Donnie D
Thanx all. I will find out today when the Approach arrives. From what I have researched it should work fine. It want match the black jacket but hey,.... I'm from Alabama. Roll Tide!

I don't have a Tamarack jacket, but I just did an Internet search, and several people claim that it does. I hope that helps. It's a great jacket, but the arms on the large size were too long for me, so I had to cut them to make them shorter.
PRENTICE M
Honestly I am not sure. When researching for a shell for my Palisades jacket I was correctly advised that the Approach Softshell was the proper zip-in companion. There isn't any harm in asking the Marmot customer service bots as they are quite knowledgable and responsive.
Ask there and buy here.

As long as the tamarack is zipin compatible it will fit.

Thanx!

Or does anyone have a recommendation on which model will zip inside a Marmot TamaracK? Thanks in advance!
