I was looking more fore a collapsed structure head protection. I am currently training my k9 for search and rescue. Would this helmet protect me from falling debrie in a collapsing building?
MARIO C Being in law enforcement I can tell you that while this is a great climbing helmet, I can't say that it would give you the kind of protection your looking for. I believe this helmet provides protection from falls while climbing (hopefully your belayer will catch you) and this can help while swing onto the side of a wall if that happens. This helmet does not have the same material of say Kevlar which could give excellent protection from the velocity of falling debris of a building and such.
Horatiu Robert M Hi there! I am currently using this helmet and i am very happy so far. you may have notice that this Skywalker 2 has a European cut on the forehead which means that the helmet itself sit just above the eyebrows as it should versus other brand that require adjustment. it has good ventilation and that piece of cloth on the buckle that sits just a bit to your left as not to rub your chin are by far extras with this. i have been using Mammut products since i was a kid being born and part raised in the Transylvania Alps. now depending on haw big that debris is i would say that you would be well protected against. its a sturdy one and it had some padding inside. also i want to mention something about that side loading that i keep hearing about... it 's not the case for this one, it does not apply. buy 2 just in case they run out.
