I wear these to walk my dog. That means I wear them 4-6x a week, putting on about 10 miles. I have an arthritic ankle (from an old climbing injury) and these provide me with great structure. They are waterproof (for at least a while, depending on how well you clean and take care of them) and lightweight. This is my 3rd pair of Mammut Gore-tex boots, and I think they are the bomb.

Just a pity these are no longer made though if you are lucky still available. Wonders just why something that is not broken is no longer made??? Thanks to Sunny sports I got a pair. only complaint not real long lasters. In 10 months I did round 300 miles of rough tramping (hiking) and they began to fall apart.

I have gone through some different boots over the last few years and I am an avid hiker/mountaineer. I am glad I went back to Mammut because they are just the best boots in the world for me. I just hiked Iron Mtn in the San Gabriels in California and the boots performed perfectly. They are comfortable and they dig in and edge and work exactly like I would want a mountain boot to work. Highly recommended.

As always the quality of these boots are on point. I bought a half size up from a suggestion and was happy I did. The problem was that the left boot was shipped with a vary large scuff on the top. I'm hoping it doesn't compromise the waterproof qualities. I know these boots are going to get banged up, but the fun is doing it yourself.
