Is it a winter jacket? Give me a range of degrees it can withstand the cold (farenhiet)
WILLIAM W This jacket is meant for aerobic activities in cold weather so if your moving around a lot then yes it's a winter jacket. If your looking for a jacket the keep you warm in 20 degree and lower while your hanging out outside I would choose something warmer.
JELIER D All depends on your definition of 'winter'.
I would say that this jacket is mainly designed for HIGH LEVEL ACTIVE functions, NOT for sitting around. It is light (about 330 grams or 11.64 Oz. on my digital scale), fits me well, is very comfortable, and stretches well.
I have been using it mostly IN my heated house (I keep it at about 65 degrees), so it will work for that also.
NICHOLAS G I live in NC and wear this as my winter jacket, but our winters are fairly mild. I am comfortable in this jacket from about 20-25 degrees F (with a light mid layer or long sleeve shirt underneath) up to about 55 degrees with a t shirt underneath. The stretch panels really help the breathing. Also FYI, I wear a medium in this jacket and also in most North Face (I was concerned this would run a little small like some MH does but it's perfect).
ADRIANE S With a heavy base layer the answer is yes. Excellent quality, doesn't have as much of the "alpine" (slim) fit as I'd like to see but still highly recommend.
Hope this helps. God bless!
MATT A I have found this jacket comfortable as a base layer, under a wind stop fleece to about 10 deg. By itself it is fine around 30-45 deg.(non-aerobic). It really holds the heat you produce, so I expect it will be really warm skiing, but can't confirm that yet.
MICHAEL C It's a nice jacket that you can use in the Fall, or as a layer for Winter. Compacts nicely and a good fit.
