Comments about Mountain Hardwear Zonal Jacket for Men:

I looked for the midlayer for alpine climbing. This is nice jacket for this purpose. Very breathable and light weight. I bought small bag for putting it in. The only con is that it is little bit cold. I felt bit chilly when I take a walk with it as outer jacket. Which means very breathable. So very good for aerobic work like alpine climbing. PS.I like this durability.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Zonal Jacket for Men:

This is the 'second generation' of the Zonal Jacket, and it has 'addressed most of the issues' of the earlier version.
The added stretch panels in the elbows, under arm and arm pit, as well as back of shoulder give it the needed stretch that the earlier version lacked, although it is still a little tight in the shoulders/arm pits (at least for me, as I have large shoulders and upper arms).

I am 58", 155 pounds, 32 inch waist and a Medium fits me well/snug. Cinch cords adjust for some of the 'slack' in the waist area.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Zonal Jacket for Men:

I have been on the hunt for a lightly insulated coat for the past 3 years. I wanted something fitted and not too bulky that I can wear a shell over it if necessary, but warm enough to be worn by itself 95% of the time in our mild NC winters. This is it.

This coat is more fitted than most, and fits very similar to North Face Summit Series gear. I think it's a pretty standard fit for Mountain Hardwear though. The Patagonia Nano Puff is a good comparison, but it is baggier and doesn't have the underarm panels for breathability that this one does.

I'm 5'10", 170 lbs and the medium fits me perfectly. I purchased the red, which is actually not extremely bright like I figured, and the zipper pulls and a few of the zippers add nice contrast.

Shopper  Is it a winter jacket? Give me a range of degrees it can withstand the cold (farenhiet)
ANDREAS G  Around town, I'll wear it down to about freezing. If it's windy I'll wear my hardshell over it. Below freezing I'll wear my down coat. In the mountains, I'll wear it in the parking lot and at the start of the hike, but it quickly gets too warm as you get moving.
