Comfortable, good-looking pants

After wearing a pair of these for a 37 hour trip home from Romania and finding them comfortable, attractive and clean all the time, immediately purchased more for the next trip. I now have 10 pair of Mtn Hardware trousers of various designs. I love them all.

Love these hiking pants!

Finally a hiking pant that sits near the waist and not at the hip where it gets pushed down by a backpack. I hike 3-4 days/week and need well-fitting pants. Normally a size 4 or 6, a 4/32 was just right. Love these so much that I purchased them in two different colors and would buy more if they were available.

I like how this pair of pants is very lightweight and comfortable. Water resistance and UPF 50 is convenient when you are outdoor so it's a plus. I bought a size 4 and it fits well (I'm normally a sz 2) for those who are concern about sizing.

Questions about this item:

s m  Do these pants have a chamois-lined waistband and chamois-lined gusseted crotch? I am trying to replace a pair of mountain hard wear pants bought several years ago.
LISA R  I think they only had the waist band lined and not the crotch. I ordered the 8 and size 6 and the 6 was 2 sizes 2 big on me. I wore the old style with the crotch lined as well for hiking the whole Appalachian trail and all that wore out was the stitching on the pockets from sliding down rock mountains. This new fabric felt much thinner to me as well.
s m  I'm looking for the old style pants with waistband and lined crotch.. They had a terrific fit, and I wore them twice crossing the alps. I'm not sure I understand your comment about the Ramesa pants. I wear a 4 in most hiking pants, but I had to take an 8 short in the old style. Is there a comparable model being made now? If so, what is the model name? Thanks very much.
LISA R  I have found Mtn. Hardwear to be true to size with everything except these pants. I have 4 styles of pants and even some great shorts. I haven't seen anything like the old style of hiking pants with the tough but lightweight fabric and linings, but I usually shop on only bargain websites. If you're not going through thorny brush much, the Mtn. Hardwear Chockstone Casual Pants are very comfortable. I haven't worn them under a pack, but they are very stretchy and breathable. I usually wear size 8/30 in them (normally 32-they ran long on me). I hope you find what you want.
Shopper  please explain fabric. is it light weight? quick drying?
JULIANN S  Yes it is lightweight and quick drying, however these pants run small and are not stretchy so keep that in mind. Very high quality made pants!
KAREN M  Yes the fabric is light weight. Love wearing these pants. I would think they would dry pretty quick but have not really had them wet on a hiking trip.
LAURA K  The fabric is both light weight and quick drying. I love these pants. The Ramesa shorts are great as well.
PHYLLIS E  Fabric is lightweight and breathable. Very comfy pants .
KRISTEN V  Light weight and quick drying. Nice side pocket. Not as water resistant as other brands or as flattering. Great hiker for summer.
ANN A  Yes, to both. Also very easy to move in. Love the pants.
