Comments about Mountain Hardwear Nitrous Jacket for Women:

I used this product while cruising to Alaska and camping in Denali National Park. By the second week of use, I started noticing that there were abrasions down the sides and down the arms (both arms, both sides/front and back). When I sent it back to Mountain Hardware for warranty repair, I was told by the customer service person that the abrasions happened because I was carrying a backpack while wearing it and I was accused of not using a shell over it when in fact I did wear a shell over it, and it should not be abrading just because one carries a backpack while wearing it. After all, it's supposed to be outdoor equipment. MH should expect its customers to be doing things like backpacking with their jackets. They did send me a new jacket in exchange for the old one, but what they told me does not make me confident that the new one will not also develop these abrasions with use. In fact the customer service person said she got these abrasions on her jacket simply by carry a simple backpack to work. I should also note that my husband got a similar light down jacket made by another company (I'm not supposed to mention names) and even though that jacket went through the same stresses (in fact his pack was even heavier than mine), it survived the month-long trip looking as good as new while my Mountain Hardware Nitrous jacket showed unacceptable amounts of wear after only little more than a week. I do not recommend purchase--save your money for a better-made jacket.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Nitrous Jacket for Women:

Can't believe how warm this coat is for how lightweight it is. I wear it everywhere - as an under layer for super cold days, or as a single layer with a turtle under for spring skiing. It does shed a small amount of down unfortunately. I was between a M & L and sized up so I could wear over other layers - great decision. Zipper could be made better; it sticks occasionally.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Nitrous Jacket for Women:

I'm generally cold when I ride the chair but don't want to be bulky. This is the best shell in cold weather, or outer jacket for spring skiing. You truely cannot believe how little it weighs. The red onion color was not as pictured - it is actually much pinker, and the interior is the burgundy shown. I do wish it had more zip pockets, but the comfort makes up for it. I found it slightly longer than the Patagonia version which adds to its comfort.

              Questions about this item:

Shopper  Does this product run true to size? Is there room beyond that for bulky sweaters, etc? Is it fitted in the hips? Are there any inside pockets?
CARRIE P  It's pretty fitted for a jacket. I could do a thermal underneath but not a bulky sweater. There are inside pockets but they don't zip. The hips are a little tight but it still fit the way I thought it would. It just fits slim, like the pic looks. Hope this helps!!
