Comments about Mountain Hardwear Mountain Tech Jacket for Men:

Change in fabric to a smoother less fleece-like fabric, than older Tech Jacket had is an improvement. The cut and fit has been changed and the Large is definitely much more snug than my prior large (still have it and it's wearing well).

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Mountain Tech Jacket for Men:

This jacket is great all winter long in the Chicago area for outdoor walking, jogging, shoveling snow and more. It is a great, sleek fit and warm without the bulk...especially driving in the car. It is my favorite jacket. In extreme cold, a few layers underneath works just fine to keep you warm.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Mountain Tech Jacket for Men:

Nice coat except that it's more "blocky" than the nice athletic fit of many other MHW jackets. I'm 6 ft and just under 200 lbs, but the jacket (size L) felt too baggy around my torso and looked a little sloppy... sending it back unfortunately.

            Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
TIM L  I chose this jacket because my wife and I do a lot of hiking and backpacking along Lakes Michigan and Superior. The winds can be pretty brutal, especially in the early spring and late fall, and the Mountain Tech jacket works perfectly to keep the wind off of me. It's also pretty great in light to moderate rain. Great by itself when it's warm and awesome with a R1 fleece under it when it's chilly. It's my go-to jacket for any conditions now, I love it!
Shopper  Which one to buy: Mountain Hardwear Mountain Tech Jacket or Mountain Hardwear Windstopper Tech Jacket?
TIM L  I don't have any experience with the Windstopper jacket but I absolutely LOVE my Mountain Tech jacket. I've used it several times this year already while backpacking/ camping here in Wisconsin and it's probably my most-used piece of clothing. It's great in light/ moderate rain and blocks the wind very, very well. I wear a t-shirt under it if it's nice out, if it's chilly I'll throw on a thin baselayer and/ or my Patagonia R1 pullover. It's a great piece of gear and I'm looking for the female equivalent of it for my wife!
