How wide is the brim?
I'm looking for something I can turn into a colonial era tri-corn hat. I need at least a 3" bring, preferably more.
Very happy with hat. My brim measures 3 5/8 ".
I finally remembered to measure it, and the front and side brims are 3". It is a bit obround though as the rear part of the brim measures 4". I figure that this helps keep the sun and rain off your neck better.
The brim is exactly 2.75 inches wide in the front and sides, and 4 inches wide in the back. There is a thin plastic wire sewn into the edge of the brim to hold it's shape, but you can make a small snip through the fabric at the edge, as I did, and cut the wire and pull it out if you like.
The side brims are 2 3/4 " while the back is 3 3/4 "
It might work for a tri-corner hat.
Approx 3 3/4" back brim & 3 " sides and front. Very flexible, could conform or adapt to a bit of restructuring, light weight cap, strong fabric! We have 4 of these or similar styles, very very durable
