Comments about Mountain Hardwear Phantom 45F Down Sleeping Bag - Regular Size:

Very compact sleeping bag for 3 season use. The bag packs down to about the same size as my Cloudveil down jacket. Very warm and comfortable down to about 40 degrees.
I recently used the bag on a climb where I camped on the snow with an OR bivy sack. The temps were in the mid 30s and I slept in themals and was alright but woke up a little cold. My other sleeping bag is a zero degree down that is quite a bit bulkier and weighs over 3 lbs so this complements it well for summer use. If you are looking for something to be used in the shoulder seasons more, I'd recommend going with the Phantom 30 or Phantom 15.
I'm 5'10" 165 lbs and the regular fit me comfortably with plenty of room in the shoulders and legs and does not feel constricted.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Phantom 45F Down Sleeping Bag - Regular Size:

I've only used this bag in Northern Cali summers. Used it down to high 30s, and had it zipped up about half-way. In nights that were in the 40s, I used as a quilt. Way too warm for nights in the 50s. The foot compartment was also way too warm for me. Wished it opened up all the way, but then again it wouldn't be 1 lb if it did. Packs down to a Nalgene bottle. Would recommend this any day.

          Questions about this item:

Shopper  Does this bag have a FULL length zipper so it can be used as a quilt?
SCOTT L  sorry, my first reply was about a different bag...this bag we bought for my wife has a zipper that does indeed go nearly to the bottom so you can put your feet out. it's kind of narrow for a comforter, though.
