Great for mild temps.
For extended tours, carry two. One for mild nights, two for cold nights.

does this sleeping bag work for backpacking????
DREA T
Depends on what the temperatures will be where you are and if you run hot or cold. I live in North Idaho and run cold and would not trust to keep me warm in temperatures below 60°. I primarily use it around the house, and as the inside bag when I double up for winter camping. But I really like the bag. Light weight, highly compressible.

is this back pack good for backpacking?
Benjamin P
This is a fantastic, versatile and roomy bag for late spring through early autumn, especially when used with an insulating pad or mattress on chilly nights. To give you an idea of how roomy the cut is, my wife and I have used it on even colder nights with an REI Travel Down mummy bag (45 degree) inside of this bag without feeling at all cramped. I highly recommend this bag for cool to warm weather camping.
Richard R
Yes. It rolls up fairly small and doesn't weigh a lot, so it can be good for long hikes.
Mark S
It is a sleeping bag. But, yes, it is lightweight and packs small. The downfill is a huge plus.

can the bottom only be unzipped so I can stick my feet out?
Kenneth R
no
JAMES V
Yes sure does. (It's a double zipper at the bottom.)
Brett B
No; the zipper unzips from the top, so if you wanted your feet to stick out you'd have to leave the side open.
Kevin S
Yes, the dual zippers on the bag allow the bottom of the bag to be unzipped while the side of the bag is zipped.
Kevin d
Yes, but if you are relying more on the 30 sideI'd think again. Not the warmest
