Comments about Kelty Hula House 6 Tent:
I set it up as a trial in the backyard before testing at the campsite. If you've set up a tent before this one is definitely a one-person deal although it does go a bit faster with two. The orange, hula "pole" is a continuous loop so you'll need a tree or something solid to push against as you connect the last two (opposing) ends (four poles - two on each end). You'll see what I mean...
We had a blazing thunderstorm the second night at the site and two of my three (20-something) sons slept right through it without noticing. Not a spot of water even though they were on a slope (not in a ditch, though, thankfully). We did purchase the coordinating footprint.
CONS: The door leaves a little to be desired imo. VERY difficult to roll up the door on the rain fly with one person and that's the only way to secure it out of the way. Sons said it was too toasty in the morning sun. But to be fair, the sides of the rain fly were not staked out (away from the tent) at the time. We moved to a shadier site the next night and didn't test further.
Great brand. Impressive quality. We got a wonderful price for a 6-man tent. I intend to buy poles to stake out the green door of the rainfly. I think that will be a smart addition.
