Comments about Kelty Gunnison 4.1 Tent:

A little heavy for strictly a backpacking tent. It is perfect for a light weight horse packing tent. Very roomy for two people & one dog. Love the double storage vestibules. With the fly on, it is fairly wind resistance for how well vented this tent is.

Comments about Kelty Gunnison 4.1 Tent:

I have owned this tent for 4 years, the earlier model thats maroon and beige. I love it, however, one of the clasps on my fly broke, and have been trying to have it replaced for a year. Due to the proprietary construction of the clasp, an off the shelf model simply doesn't work, and allows for too much slack. Also, one of the pole loops tore away from the tent (albeit after its 200th trip into the unknown) and I've been emailing customer service for over a year, with no solution as to finding a replacement fly and clasps. Keeps me dry as a bone, and holds up to some serious wind!

Comments about Kelty Gunnison 4.1 Tent:

I have the earlier model of this tent that I bought over 10 years ago . It is still in perfect condition and has been camped in many, many times. It will keep you dry in pretty adverse conditions, like 38 degrees in the pouring rain at 8,000 feet with no problems! The zippers all still work perfectly, and there isn't one single rip anywhere in the fabric .The fly is sturdy and has tension adjustment straps , so you can really cinch it down. I will always camp in a Kelty

Comments about Kelty Gunnison 4.1 Tent:

This tent was very easy to set up. It's huge and the two vestibules and doors come in very handy. It comes with a storage loft which is a plus. I recommend better tent stakes becuase the ones that come with this tent bend easily, even soft dirt.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

        Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
LONNIE C  I was looking for a light 4 person tent that was within my budget. A backpacking buddy had a Gunnison 2.1 and he was extremely impressed with its ability to withstand heavy winds and rain. I researched it and found that it had excellant reviews. I can now vouch for it as an outstanding part of my backpacking arsenal
Shopper  I don't know much about tents. What material are the DAC Featherlite NSL poles made out of? Aluminum? Fiberglass?
LONNIE C  The poles in question are made of aluminum
Shopper  is there a some sort of a window on the rainfly so we can view outside?
SunnySports S  No, no windows on the fly to look out. On nice evevnings you can always roll back the front door flaps
