Comments about Kelty Galactic 30F Rectangular Down Bag - Regular Size:

I purchased this sleeping bag to go inside of my hammock at home which is my bed. The fabric of the sleeping bag is super soft, the down is very light and it is nice and roomy. It isn't as warm as I thought it would be, but I just wear heavier pajamas. However, I am delighted with this sleeping bag and wouldn't trade if for anything. It is just what I needed to keep my feet covered in the hammock, and also to allow movement within the hammock without blankets over me that restrict movement. The color is also very attractive and rich looking.

Nice bag but wished it would have come with a better compression bag, one with straps and buckles that allow for smaller packed size.

Comments about Kelty Galactic 30F Rectangular Down Bag - Regular Size:

I bought this bag because I tend to sweat a lot in sleeping bags. I was looking for one that opened into a quilt with a liner that does not cause me to overheat and sweat. Being as this is a down sleeping bag, I was really disappointed with packing size and weight of the product. It packs down small as compared to others I've seen, but I have smaller bags that I paid less for. They consider this bag as a summer bag, but I got way too hot to sleep in it, even with it opened all the way. I'm going to try the 55F Kelty Celestial instead. THis is a good bag, just not the right one for me. If your in an envirnment where it can dip in the summer, or you get colder than most then this is a good bag.

      Questions about this item:

Bruce S  What size compression sack would work with this bag?
GWEN C  I don't know....but we really like the sleeping bag.
K K  how do you clean it? does the down shift & bunch up?
Zack W  Below are the cleaning instructions for sleeping bags. 1. DO NOT DRY CLEAN. 2. Close zippers and Velcro tabs. 3. Machine wash in front-loading machine (DO NOT use machine with agitator, agitator could cause damage not covered under warranty) with cold water and mild soap (Ivory Flakes, Woolite, Sport Wash, Etc.) Not detergents. Down sleeping bags require a special down wash (Nikwax, Mcnett’s) that protects the oils on the down feathers/clusters. 4. Rinse thoroughly; double rinse to eliminate soap residue. 5. Dry in LARGE front loading dryer on low heat. Check occasionally on status. Too much heat can damage the fabric and fill. Using a small dryer can put a part of the bag too close to the heating element and melt part of the bag. This will not be covered under warranty. ***If after cleaning you notice clumps follow drying instructions above and use a few clean tennis balls to help break these up***
