About High Sierra Lightning 35 Backpack

High Sierra Lightning 35 Backpack
If you need a large bag for hiking for the outdoors, then you need the High Sierra Lightning 35 Backpack. It has a massive 9.2 gallon top-load compartment with drawstring closure and an adjustable top lid. This bag was designed with comfort in mind, featuring contoured backpack straps, VAPEL mesh padding, as well as adjustable compression waist and sternum straps. The stretched mesh back panel is part of an air flow system to keep you cool by removing moisture and sweat from between your back and the bag. It has a webbing daisy chain to attach extra tools and soft lashing hardware that hold an ice axe or hiking poles. A padded grab handle allows you to carry the bag from the front, while a built-in internal hydration reservoir sleeve with dual exit ports for tubes, allows you to keep hydrated. You must purchase the reservoir separately. The media pocket on the strap keeps your technology close at hand, while zippered waist belt pockets keep snacks and tools conveniently close. The dual mesh pockets are capable of carrying 1 liter bottles for an extra water supply. A tucked away rain cover is available, in case it rains. This High Sierra Lightning 35 Backpack has everything you need for any outing.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
WILLIAM G  Capacity, narrow profile, hip pockets, load transfer to hips, price is right and Sunny Sports shipped fast.
Shopper  Contoured backpack straps, with adjustable load-lifters and VAPEL mesh padding, "are uniquely shaped to fit trimmer torso". This pack is a 35 - so it's a Regular?, yet the description says "to fit trimmer torso". Is this an error? I'm not Fat, but I wouldn't describe a 36" male waist as trim either. Or is the diff between a 30 & 35 the trim and regular?
WILLIAM G  You are correct, it is the 30(trim) and 35(regular). I'm 6' with a 36" waist the 35(regular) is what I own. I carried mine all over Yellowstone and Redwood parks and other than ALOT of extra strap on this thing I like it. The top is a bit floppy if you have a really light/not bulky load. I really like the hip pockets and narrow profile. This is a great pack when you're helping carry the majority of the little kids day hike picnic. When my son and I go climbing it works out great for rope and climbing gear.
Shopper  What's the "Torso Fit Range" - how/where measured?
WILLIAM G  Measuring Your Torso To determine your torso length, measure the distance between the C7 vertebrae and the top of the hip bone. Then use the sizing charts to choose a pack that will best fit your body type. Unless you are wickedly "trim" I'd stick with the Regular fit packs.
