The #9 sack was perfect for my ExPed+

By The M.

The #9 sack was perfect for my ExPed air pad & cover plus my tent poles. With this sack I was able to keep my air pad in the cover and roll up my MSR Hubba tent poles together, then bungee cord the bag to the top of my rear bike rack. My tent, without the poles, then fit perfectly into either of my front or rear panniers. Not only was the size perfect, this is a great quality sack!!!

Granite Gear Toughsack - Assorted Colors
Keep your favorite fleece or sleeping pad secure in one of the super lightweight and water-resistant, the Granite Gear Toughsack as you travel the most rugged trails on the globe. Tough sacks keep your gear and clothing dry and organized. Granite gear tough sacks will last you a lifetime of heavy use. They are built with a tough 70 denier rip-stop with a white pigmented coating, so you can see into them more easily (this is the same proven fabric used in our dry sacks and drylite compression sacks). They also feature hypalon grommets that are lighter and hold up better than brass grommets.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

edita p  I am looking to buy 4 or 5 but would like to know if they are really water resistance?
TIMOTHY H  Mine have never been tested in bad conditions but still seems to be great bag
RIDGECREST R  I never got it wet so I wouldn't know. it's a good bag though.
BRYAN J  Depends on how water resistant you are looking for? They are a nylon bag, about as resistant as a nylon outer jacket, I use them for storage of my rain fly on the outside of my pack, if you are looking to store clothing etc…I would find some water proof bags. Hope that helps!
JAMES R  I would say that water resistant is a fair statement. They have taped the seams but I must be honest to say that I have not tested them in a waterproof situation as I tend to go for my dry bags for that insurance, but I think they would do very well for a time in a moist invironment.
J Q  Although I haven't actually submerged it, I have used my toughsack in the rain and had no problems at all.
Matt F  I would hesitate to call it water resistant as it is. The material itself probably is at it seems to be some sort of PU coated nylon, but the seams are not sealed and it has a draw string closure. I would think that if you sealed the seams you would probably have something water resistant as long as you left yourself enough room to get the drawstring good and tight.
JANICE C  Yes, they are. We use them for backpacking and have never had a problem.
mike r  WHAT ARE THE SIZES?!!! I'm looking for a dry bag for my inflatable sleeping pad - rolled up it's about 5"x22"
TIMOTHY H  I have the #4 7l bag it would be big enough round but only 14 to 16 in long.
Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
JEFF B  I needed a tall narrow bag to replace a torn sack for my sleeping pad used while back packing
