Definately a neccessity for long canoe t

I went on a 4 day canoe trip in August. If I did not have this seat it would have been back breaking, literally. The chair makes for a comfortable ride! I was able to stuff 4 granola bars, a knife, and a pair of Bino's in the back pouch. It has a strap on the back that you can attach other items to. For example I attached canteens using ALICE clips. This product lost a star because my partners seat starting ripping near the end of the trip (it had taken a beating). The seat also needs to be r...

Comfy but won't fit in the stern seat...

By

I purchased the GCI SitBacker to use in my 17' alumacraft canoe and also as a camp chair. Unfortunately it is just barely too wide to fit properly in the stern. I can jam it in there between the canoe frame but doing so causes the upright poles in the seat back frame to flex and it think it will cause wear issues with the fabric as well. The seatback just needs to be about 1/2" narrower to fit correctly. Outside of that the seat is comfortable, supportive, lightweight, and does well as a camp chair when I am off the water.

nice canoe seat !

By

great canoe seat ! .. people who have complained about the hinges are not adjusting the tension strap on the back rest properly. it takes all the load, it is much more comfortable than the crazy creek chair I have used in the past, and stays put on the canoes seat.its even comfortable to sit on in the folded down position. I will be on a week long canoe trip in 2 weeks so this will be a good test of this chair..but i feel very confident it will be great

Looking for support, here it is.

By

The seat clipped in to the canoes quickly and provided plenty of back support. Previously on trips my lower back would start to hurt by the end of the trip. With the SitBackers, I was able to enjoy the entire voyage without any back pain. I also use them for sporting events as they clip to the bench seats at the local fields with minimal effort, and hold well. They are also a lot lighter, and easier to carry, than the other stadium seat we were using.
