This product is not difficult to inflate. it just takes a little time and skill. There is a video on the company website and YouTube that offers technique advice on using the built-in pump. It is tricky, but once you learn it--it works well.
Once inflated--this is one comfortable mattress. I really think I am going to get a lot of use out of this. I have slept on it several times and once went through the whole night without having to get up.

The mat has a built in pump - works great. Used this mat @ 14 degrees & insulated me well from ground. Hope this helps.

The SynMat 9 air attests has an internal hand operated pump. No external parts and no need to blow your lung out.
The pump is operated by pumping with your arms with an action similar to performing CPR.

The model 9 has an internal pump. I suspect you could use an external pump through the available openings. But he internal pump works just fine.

Wanted to up date a 20+ yr old thermarest for something more comfortable! This product is great for winter camping in a tent or for hammock camping,it's a little more heavy than a thermarest basecamp mattress ! But comfort speaks louder than words for this 60+yr old!! Thanks SunnySports!
