Comments about Eureka Timberline SQ 4XT Tent:

I camped in Eureka tents for over ten years in all conditions (Sun, Rain, Snow, Wind, More Rain, Cold) as a Boy Scout. I have returned to Scouts and Camping with my own family (of 4 and a 70 lb dog) after spending the last several years backpacking. I am convinced that this is the best tent for space, ease of use, comfort, and protection from elements for the size and weight. The Vestibule on the SQ 4XT keeps the dirt out of the sleeping area. The price won't break the bank. I absolutely swear by this tent - it's so much stronger than a dome tent.

Comments about Eureka Timberline SQ 4XT Tent:

This is the newest version of the Timberline 4 and it couldn't have been done any better. It retains all the great features of the original, while adding tons of great new stuff to make it even better. My original was purchased in 1990 and is still serving me well. I needed to add another due to an increase in family size and I'm glad I stayed with the Timberline family!

    Questions about this item:

Shopper  What is the difference between the SQ 4XT and the SQ 4 Outfitter?
JOSH R  I own a 4XT. I bought it because I used to use the outfitter version when i was in boy scouts. The 4XT is the same basic design but with more features such as an integrated vestibule, two doors, and slightly different pole design. The outfitter is heavier material. The outfitter is probably better for extreme weather but I've been very happy with my 4XT. Note that the last time i used an outfitter version was over ten years ago so the outfitter design may have some of the new features that impressed me with the 4XT
Dan N  Does this tent come with the vestibule or is that an extra purchase?
MARK I  The full close vestibule is a separate purchase on the site for $56.95. But keep in mind that there is a front flap type closure, shown in the photos, that can be used as a vestibule. It comes across the front and can be completely closed. This is an awesome tent. I camp with a Boy Scout troop often and the tent is very versatile. The rain fly will keep the cold and rain out. When it's warm you don't even have to use the rain fly and the extensive screening has ventilation coming from all sides. That's the main reason I bought this model of Timberline was for the ventilation. I live in Florida. Hope that helped! Good luck! Mark
Shopper  is this tent free standing? Can it stand up on its own with out tent stakes?
DENNIS S  It is free standing. Have used this tent in big rains and blowing wind with no problem (staked down though)
